Maxine

I slept for ten hours and had a nice breakfast at a local restaurant before heading out to see Maxine Gail at the long-term care facility. When I spoke with them a couple of days earlier, they said late morning would be a good time to visit. When I told the receptionist I was there to visit Maxine Gail, she gave me an odd look and said I would have to speak with a supervisor. I was escorted into a private office and introduced to Mrs. Brown the manager. She informed me that Maxine had passed away the previous night. I was surprised, but knew she was ill and elderly, so it wasn’t shocking. I asked if there would be a service. Mrs. Brown said the body was being flown back to Chicago where Maxine’s family lived.
